Students have the right to seize the responsibility for their own destiny and should be encouraged to do so. With every right comes responsibility.
1.  I have the responsibility to come to every class prepared to listen, to participate, and to learn,
2. I have the responsibility to read the text carefully, nothing important ideas and rephrasing concepts in my own words.
3.I have the responsibility to work examples in then textbook and those given in class.
4.            I have the responsibility to consult other students, the teacher an assistant, and other resources whenever I need the extra help.
5.I have the responsibility to understand that the teacher is not primarily responsible for making me understand, but that it is my job to study and to learn.
6. I have the responsibility of keeping an open mind and trying to comprehend what the teacher is trying to get across.

Student Success Statement

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t them because you are popular; you make them because they’re right.

-Theodore Hesburgh

This statement says that principals given by our parents have no price they are the most important thing. All they are ever going to ever leave us is our education. It is whats right and not to do anything because people go with it. Do it because it is the right thing to do.

“Decisions Determine Destiny”

The Decision We Make Right Now Are The Ones That Are Going To Lead Us Into The Pad Of Our Future And There The Ones That Are Going To Effect Us In Our Futures.

Successful Students

Part2

4. Successful students learn that a student and a teacher make a team. Most teachers want exactly what you want: they would like for you to learn the material in their respective classes and earn a good grade.

Successful students reflect well on the efforts of any teachers; if you have learned your material, the instructor takes some justifiable pride in teaching. Join forces with your instructor, they are not an enemy, you share the same interests, the same goals – in short, and you’re teammates. Get to know your professor. You’re the most valuable players on the same team. Your jobs are to work together for mutual success. Neither wishes to chalk up a losing season. Be a team player!

5. Successful students don’t sit back. Successful students minimize classroom distractions that interfere with learning. Students want the best seat available for their entertainment dollars, but willing seeks the worst seat for their educational dollars.

Students who sit in the back cannot possibly be their teacher’s teammate (see no. 4). Why do they expose themselves to the temptations of inactive classroom experiences and distractions of all the people between them and their instructor? Of course, we know they chose the back of the classroom because they seek invisibility.

“Right is right,
even if everyone is against it.
Wrong is wrong
even if everyone is for it”
-William Penn

Refection: I think that people can always say and do and even convince people to do whatever they want to do. At the end nothing ever changes and life will repay with anything you feed it.

             50 Habits of Successful People
                                                      (Habits 44-47)

44.
They don’t rationalize failure. While many are talking about their age, their sore back, their lack of time, their poor genetics, their ‘bad luck’, their nasty boss and their lack of opportunities (all the good reason to fail), they are finding a way to succeed despite all their challenges.
45. They have an off switch. They know how to relax, enjoy what they have in their life and to have fun.
46 .Their careers is not their identity, it’s their job. It’s not who they are, it’s what they do.
47. They are more interested in effective than they are in easy. While the majority look for the quickest, easiest way (the shortcut), they look for the course of action which will produce the best result over the long term.

For the clip I just saw about Ian I think It was a very nice act and by letting someone else have such an important and meaningful item. He acted  like the older person. By giving away something he really wanted, he got something even better. You sometimes have to give to receive.

We should understand our capacities and potentials, and then we should express ourselves in the external world with full confidence, acting steps without ant reservations. Thus there are three in performing an action: First forming an opinion within ourselves ; second, expressing our opinion to others; and third , Executing our opinion in action.

Understanding habit patterns the main thing that one should learn in life –and it is not taught in the home or in the school –is self-analysis. We should learn to analyze ourselves. If we really want to understand ourselves.

Doing what is right, fair, and honorable is more important than winning or loosing.”

-       Chick Moorman

I think that loosing or winning it’s not important. It is just something people say to give you a place. It’s better to be happy within yourself because you can win by doing the wrong.
